About Anna

My humble cooking journey began at the Bedford Social Club, a globally influenced, made from scratch restaurant, that had just opened in my small town. By luck, I landed an after-school job in the kitchen! Right away, I was hooked.

I eventually enrolled at CVCC, and began to work in various kitchens. I began working at Millstone Tea Room in 2013, in Sedalia, Virginia. I worked my way up and was fully submerged in the world of local food. I had a lovely set of teachers who not only shared their knowledge of Appalachian cooking with me but also encouraged creativity.

Eventually, I would hit the open road to chase an interest in travel, survival, and living off the grid. Through travel, I learned about WOOF and began an interesting journey taking care of animals, making yogurt, building gardens and earthships, among other things.

Following this path, I eventually ended up in Colorado, where I took a breakfast cook job at a renowned Relais and Chateaux luxury guest ranch, called The Home Ranch. I dove into the world of seasonal work and loved it. Not only was I able to work with the most luxurious ingredients money could buy, but I was surrounded by talented chefs who guided me along the way. I ended up staying for 5 years. I found myself in the North Fork Valley, during the summer months cooking at another boutique property called Smith Fork Ranch. It was the dream job for several reasons. Not only was the weather and scenery sublime, but we also had a bountiful garden that was the inspiration for our daily changing menus, and an array of local farmers that supplied us with the highest quality lamb, bison, and pork. I felt like I struck gold on the chef gigs, and eventually gained the promotion of Executive Chef in 2019, before moving back to Virginia.

The last 4 years have been dedicated to finding and achieving balance, peace, and enjoying life. Some of my recent employers have been Girl Scouts of America and The Virginia State Capitol.  I value a healthy and active lifestyle which is why I am passionate about bringing meal prep to Lynchburg. I currently hold a Certification in Holistic Nutrition Consulting from ACHCS, With this certification, I will offer coaching services, as well as nutritional planning for you and your loved ones.

My favorite hobbies include practicing hot yoga, camping with family and friends, exploring the mountains with my dog and traveling.

Throughout my years of hard work and self-determination, I pride myself on being skilled in several culinary styles. Colleagues would describe me as resilient, ingredient-driven, and service-minded. I value sustainable practices, local agriculture, diversity, and a holistic approach to living.
